When I was 15 I participated in a school exchange and went to Germany for four months. I remember a lot of things about it vividly – the cobbled stones in the pedestrian area of the town I lived in, the sound of birds outside my bedroom, the crazy-fast driving on the Autobahn. And the homesickness. Oh my, the homesickness. I’m sharing that story on Greta’s blog today.
I was lucky to meet Greta at Blissdom last year and she was an absolute darling. I remember her standing in the entrance of the very funky hotel we stayed as she looked for things to shoot for a photography session she was participating in. I was parked firmly on the couch relishing morning sickness at the time and I was jealous that she was doing something I wished I’d had the gumption to do. (I love playing with photos but doing that at a blog conference intimidates the heck out of me.)
In any case, she’s a really lovely person and a great blogger. She hosts #ippp (aka iphone photo phun), writes about her family (she has four kids!) and their gluten free life, and her goal is to run 500 miles in 2013 (which I think is totally awesome). One of my favourite posts is Losing Steam, a recent one of hers about loneliness and rural life.
I’m guest posting as part of her Great Expectations series and would love for you to come and visit!
